โ€” Nie Jiayi. They have a close relationship, and she loves any time that she can go and visit her. Though they arenโ€™t quite as close as they used to be once she begins her training with the Nie Clan.

โ€” Her age is dependent upon storyline. Her Birthday: September 23rd. Zodiac sign: Monkey (Yang โ€” ็”ณ โ€” West โ€” Metal โ€” Early Autumn โ€” 1st trine)

โ€” Cis Female. Sheโ€™s demisexual, heteromantic.

โ€” She belongs to the Nie Sect. Her mother is a distant relative to the Nie family, but a secondary branch like Wen Qing & Wen Ning. She became a disciple for the Nie Clan after having shown a higher cultivation prowess and strategic mind. Her clan, the Tian clan, is a rather small clan that resides in Qinghe and is overseen by the Nie clan. Sheโ€™s an only child, and as such was close to her martial siblings. That carries on to when she joins the Nie Clan sect.

Appearance & Personality

๐๐จ๐๐ฒ
โ€” Though she looks lithe and willowy, she has a hidden strength. Scars are tbd
๐‡๐š๐ข๐ซ
โ€” Dark brown hair that reaches at least mid-back. Oftentimes sheโ€™ll have a bun and then loose hair. She tends to like changing up her hair accessories which are often provided by Jin Guangyao with Nie Huaisangโ€™s goodies. If sheโ€™s close to you sheโ€™ll sometimes let you braid her hair (Nie Huaisang being the first).
๐€๐ญ๐ญ๐ข๐ซ๐ž
โ€” Kexinโ€™s attire depends on what sheโ€™s doing. When working sheโ€™ll wear her disciple uniform but when it comes to formal occasions or casual occasions she likes to indulge in finer, more decorative attire, though it keeps with the color scheme of the Nie Clanโ€™s color palette. She quite enjoys jewelry, but once more only when sheโ€™s not working. That being said, she does always wear the same bracelet no matter if sheโ€™s working or not. Once she begins her training under the Nie Clan, she always carries a fan (persuaded by her martial brother of course).
๐–๐ž๐š๐ฉ๐จ๐ง
โ€” Given that she began her training outside of the Nie clan, her sword would be a smaller, more elegant saber. Specifically, a Liuyedao (Willow-leaf saber) of about 32-34in blade. Grey, dark green, gold, and dark purple are the colors of the saber. Its name is: Xฤซn Yรฌ which is a word that represents oneโ€™s heartfelt intention towards someone. Itโ€™s a powerful expression of love, care, and understanding. Iโ€™ll add a picture instead of describing the sword itself. Just imagine the blade is a little more curved. As far as the scabbard/sheath, itโ€™s made of a marble-like material thatโ€™s the dark green on the hilt of the sword. The handle-like part on the scabbard/sheath is deep purple that has a tassel in the colors of the Nie clan. On the top of the scabbard/sheath is an ornamentation of a beast head in steel. The bottom of the scabbard/sheath has ornamentation of the same color, but rather than it also being a beast, itโ€™s a fan and flowers. Itโ€™s made this way because due to the cultivating ways of the Nie clan and their sabers, Kexin tries to focus on balance a lot, so this is an example of her more battle-ready, aggressive side, and her softer side balancing each other even on her sword.

This came about because when Wei Wuxian mentioned using resentful energy during the cloud recesses lecture, she entertained the idea since their saber techniques were a bit similar. But quickly decided not to think on it. But she did wonder about other forms of cultivation and spiritual weapons like the music of the Lans or Zidian. It made her wonder if something like a fan could focus spiritual power as well. She found a little information on it and started training in it and found that not only did it work, but the gentle, calm techniques used with it work well to balance out damage to the qi caused by the saber techniques. This proved rather useful when the Wens took the disciples' swords and she started using her fan offensively.๐ˆ๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ
โ€” She would probably like to learn to play the guqin from Lan Xichen, given both of their closeness to Nie Mingjue and the fact that the guqin can soothe pent up qi. But she wouldnโ€™t carry any instrument.

๐๐ž๐ก๐š๐ฏ๐ข๐จ๐ซ
โ€” She takes her training very seriously, so during the times that sheโ€™s working and training she tries to stay focused (though itโ€™s difficult with Huaisang, Wei Wuxian, and Jiang Chengโ€™s antics). That being said, she also likes to have fun and let loose when the time is right. Or when itโ€™s not a great time but she ends up getting swept into the previously mentioned antics. She also likes collecting things (she did grow up with Nie Huaisang, after all). She does have flare ups of anger at times, given the Nie Clan cultivation techniques, but she tries her best to keep them at bay and focuses strongly on balancing her energy and emotions in hopes that it will keep her sword from getting filled with too much resentful energy.

โ€” Tian Kang. When she was very small her father was her favorite person. As she got a little older, he began to focus more on wanting to bring prestige to their clan, and as such wasnโ€™t around as much as sheโ€™d like. When she originally chose to train with the Nie clan, he wasnโ€™t very happy about the decision. But he realized that it was her decision to make, and they smoothed things out. Though she is still not nearly as close to him as she was as a child.

โ€” She has no blood siblings, only her martial siblings originally. When she trains under the Nie clan, they become her martial siblings as well. Then as Nie Mingjue, Lan Xichen, and Jin Guangyao became sworn brothers, so too did she become the sworn sister of Nie Mingjue & Nie Huaisang. JGY & LXC aren't her sworn siblings in the way the Nie brothers are, but she does seem them as brothers
๐Ž๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ
โ€” Though they are neither her martial, blood, or sworn siblings, she does come to see Wei Wuxian and Yanli as siblings (in my HC she ends up with Jiang Cheng but that can stay platonic/famililal if my writing partner wants in which case Jiang Cheng would also be included here)
